Incident reporting and MSIC arrangements
An incident under Part 9 of the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act must be reported in writing to Office of Transport Security (OTS) as soon as possible. DOTARS must be notified within 4 hours of the MIP or OIP becoming aware of the incident and the written report should be provided within 72 hours.

MSIC arrangements
The MSIC initiative strives to minimise the risk of those who may wish to unlawfully interfere with maritime infrastructure obtaining legitimate access to facilities by way of background checking prior to issue for all stakeholders requiring unescorted access within a secure maritime facility.
