Management of the Port
The Port Kembla Port Corporation (PKPC) is a state owned corporation and is responsible for managing the port of Port Kembla.
This role includes;
- overseeing the day to day operation of the port
- ensuring the efficiency of port logistics
- managing the economic development and diversification of the port.
In addition to port infrastructure (such as wharves and jetties), PKPC also owns and manages lands in the Inner and Outer Harbours and the rail network within the port. In some cases these assets are leased on a commercial basis for port related use. Rail infrastructure owned by PKPC is on a common user basis.
